Power China Chengde Spa

This six-story building features a façade clad in dark stone and exposed architectural concrete, reminiscent of the enigmatic saunas found in ancient bathhouses.

On the lower spa levels, the building presents itself as a solid, sculpted mass, enhancing the sense of privacy and exclusivity within the sanctuary. Its monolithic façade is punctuated by selective window slots, allowing dramatic shafts of light to penetrate deep into the inner sanctums of the spa and providing stunning northern views of the surrounding canyon from the interior pool areas.

Moving up to the hotel levels, the solid base façades give way to lighter, more transparent elements, with expansive glass windows and open terraces offering panoramic views of the canyon hills. Facing the street on the south side, several light wells at the roof bring sunlight into the rear rooms, ensuring that each unit is filled with natural light without the harsh effects of direct sunlight.

Every room embodies the principles of healthy living, featuring abundant light and views, exceptionally efficient layouts, and direct access to the natural world beyond.

Elevated on its concrete structure, the entire building incorporates a garden-level spa that extends beneath and beyond the structure, seamlessly blending with the landscaped garden facing the scenic view. With lush landscaping underneath, the building appears as a large floating vessel anchored along the fertile banks of the adjacent creek.
