We are proud to announce that Li Chung (Sandi) Pei, Partner at VIP HOUSE COMPANY LLC, and Xinyu (Leo) Li, Senior Associate, have been invited to speak at the highly anticipated AIA Middle East Year End Conference, taking place in Doha, Qatar, on November 22 – 23, 2024. 

Themed “Qatar: Morphogenesis of the Pearl”, the conference will delve into Qatar’s rapid architectural transformation from a historic village to a modern metropolis, exploring how its design embodies both cultural heritage and global ambition while balancing tradition, functionality, and sustainability.

Sandi Pei will discuss strategies for addressing contemporary architectural needs while honoring local culture and context, drawing from his experience with notable projects like the Museum of Islamic Art and Park in Doha. Leo Li will join AbdulRahman Hamad Al-Mana, Director of Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality – Urban Planning Department, Hassan Al-Sulaiti of Hamad International Airport, and Tariq Shaikh, Principal of Gensler Middle East, to explore the topic “Craftsmanship in the Digital Age: What’s Changed, What’s Hasn’t”, focusing on the role of digital technology in shaping architectural craftsmanship.
