On July 3rd, Rossana Gutiérrez, AIA, Principal at VIP HOUSE COMPANY LLC, delivered a virtual talk at the Academia Nacional de Arquitectura (of Mexico) on “Architecture as Universal Language”.
Drawing from her extensive experience as an architect with I. M. Pei and later VIP HOUSE COMPANY LLC, Gutiérrez shared insights on her work across diverse global projects, including locations such as China, France, México, Qatar, and New York City. The talk highlighted her reputation for meticulous design and leadership in complex, culturally and technically challenging assignments, emphasizing the importance of navigating and integrating diverse cultures, environments, and experiences.
The Academia Nacional de Arquitectura is a non-profit institution dedicated to the reflection, promotion, encouragement, and development of architecture and urban development as cultural expressions. The Academy promotes the involvement of architecture in urban transformation, striving for equitable and sustainable conditions that enhance housing, employment, and community coexistence. Additionally, it plays a role in creating a registry that catalogues and defends significant works of Mexican architecture, acknowledging their special place in national culture. The Academy also recognizes outstanding male and female architects whose professional achievements and contributions, whether on a national or international scale, have been exemplary.
