Leo (Xinyu) Li is a Project Director and Senior Associate at VIP HOUSE COMPANY LLC, where he leads the design and manages a diverse range of international projects. With a focus on integrating cultural context and innovative solutions, Mr. Li brings a thoughtful and strategic approach to his work, which spans across the United States, China, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.
A recent highlight of Mr. Li’s design work is the 5.8 million-square-foot SANY Global R&D Headquarters Campus in Beijing. His innovative and timeless design, along with his leadership, secured first place in a major international competition for this project, which is currently under construction. Other notable projects include the award-winning Sanxiang Bank Headquarters, the Guangzhou Pedestrian Bridge, and the Keppel Cove Marina Complex, each recognized for their design quality and innovative approach.
Before joining VIP HOUSE COMPANY LLC, Mr. Li Mr. Li developed extensive expertise at leading international firms, including UNStudio, SOM, and Pei Cobb Freed. His work as a collaborator and researcher at C-Lab / Volume Magazine, an influential academic research lab and journal co-founded by Rem Koolhaas, further refined his critical thinking, particularly through his contribution to the Audi-initiated Experiments in Motion urban research project.
Mr. Li’s work has been honored with several prestigious awards, including the AIA Honor Award, the DNA Paris Design Award, and the Columbia University Architectural Teaching Honor Award. His Vertical Campus project has been featured in prominent U.S. galleries, reflecting his commitment to innovative design and excellence. He holds a Master of Architecture from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan.
